Here are some ideas of you can support the IL High School Dance Community:

Attend their performances: Show up to dance concerts, showcases, and other events hosted by different high schools. A supportive audience is always appreciated. Click Here for a list of perfomances and locations that have been submitted by dance directors.

Encourage and praise: When you see a dancer from another school do something amazing, let them know! A simple compliment can go a long way in building a positive community. This could be in-person or on social media!

Engage on social media: Follow other high school dance programs on social media. View their posts about upcoming shows, congratulate them on their achievements, and interact with their content by clicking "like", commenting, or reposting..

Participate in collaborative events: Take part in events like the Illinois High School Dance Festival (IHSDF) that bring dancers from different schools together. This is a great way to meet and learn from your peers. You never know when your paths might cross again or who you could be inspired by!

Be a good sport: During class or shared performances, be respectful and encouraging to all dancers, regardless of what school they're from. Celebrate their success as you would your own.
